Music Video Creation
Below are a few before and after examples of music videos I created using a variety of different mediums.
Music Video Created with Old Photos Album Photographs
On my Youtube channel @PhillipValentine, I have examples of past music video productions. In this example, the client submitted many old photographs from various family photo albums from various family members. The best photographs were selected and restored for video output. The music was produced using a few guitar and piano loops and then layered the other instruments including drum loops, original synthesizer, and electric guitar melodies.
Music Video Created with Fine Art Photography
This music video is created using large-sized images allowing for dynamic panning, zooming, and up close detail of these large format photography scans. I composed and performed the music completely with the exception of a couple drum loops.
Logo Animation
This logo animation was created in Adobe Illustrator and Premier Pro for custom key-framing.
Music Video Created with Old Video Footage
I am creating a short video featuring our dog Koda at and around the Flatirons in Boulder Colorado. The footage is older and shot in 720p and a little grainy in places. The end goal is to use a plugin, Topaz Labs, to upscale the resolution to 1080p, testing the final results of the plugin. Simultaneously I am editing a demo song to fit the video storyboard. The final video will be longer a more elaborate video with more clips and edits at a higher resolution. I wrote and recorded the music with my friend Jordan Goehring on bass guitar and a drum loop I have been sequencing.
Image Editing and Restoration
Below are a few before and after examples of image color correction and restoration. The same skills and techniques can be used to bring out the rich colors and details of any digital image, scan, or photograph.
Florida: Reef Diving
Photographed by my father, James Valentine, somewhere in the Florida Keys. The Before image color is how it has been presented in the past decades in print and screen. The After image has been newly edited with the latest software including Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Adobe Lightroom Classic allows for precise masking of certain areas to keep an overall exposure balance while highlighting subjects and obscuring other areas.

1942-2021
The images in this gallery are examples of my image restoration and color correction work, using the latest image editing technology, coupled with decades of experience in color balancing. They all have been restored from raw scans or enhanced, bringing out colors and details that previously have not been seen.
These fine art photography images were captured using large format film during a 50-year span starting from 1972. I have chosen some iconic images from book covers, some that sold many photographic prints and some obscure gems. James Valentine worked with other artists and scientists to achieve his environmental conservation efforts.
